Hello and welcome to my blog, I’m so glad you’re here.
I started this blog because I’ve been the kind of person who struggles with doing things the way everyone else does. I always thought I lacked willpower because I’ve never been able to push myself as hard as other people and I always felt bad about that. I didn’t have the discipline to “just do it” when I didn’t really feel like doing it. Nevertheless, I’ve been able to accomplish big things such as getting a master's degree in Counseling and being successful in a corporate job for over 20 years (almost 19 at the same company). Still, I’ve never been that “kick ass and take names” person that I look up to. I’m the kind of person who likes life to be joyful and playful and I like what feels good. Therefore, I’ve always felt that I wasn’t good enough. That all changed when I discovered Marisa Peer and Rapid Transformational TherapyTM (RTT). Since then I’ve realized that who I am is enough and that I have unique gifts that I bring to this life. Now I’m beginning to bring those gift to the world and it feels great. I’ve realized that I’m the type of person that takes small steps, but when I do, I get big results.
Small steps does not necessarily equate to slow progress. In fact, small steps usually lead to much quicker results because people like me often become paralyzed by big steps and therefore don’t move at all. By taking the pressure off and just beginning the journey, the momentum can pick up quickly and before you know it you’ve reached amazing goals you never believed possible. It’s time for me and others like me to stop beating ourselves up for not being a “Type A” personality. It’s possible for us to have balance, fun, and joy in our lives and still be really amazing people and do really amazing things. My company is called Small Steps, Big Living because what I’ve learned for myself is that all you have to do is put one foot in front of the other and you can get where you want to go.
I’ve also learned that you can use your mind to do a lot for you. By spending a little time thinking about the result that you want, imaging it, and beginning to feel like you already have it, you can get momentum moving in the right direction and make the path to what you want easier and more fun. It doesn’t have to be painful and you don’t have to work so hard.
As Lao Tzu said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” So, I invite you to come on the journey with me. Feel free to get involved, I love your feedback. Let me know what you like, what you don’t like, and also let me know what you think. What do you need to make your life better? What do you want to improve? What do you have to bring to the world? I really believe that each one of us has a gift for the world and we each need to uncover what that is and begin to express ourselves one small step at a time.
If you are someone who has had a hard time fitting in, if you tend to beat yourself up because you don’t feel like you measure up, welcome home. I hope this is a place where you can begin to allow yourself to express who you are in a new and wonderful way.
